Sophisticated and stylish city wedding at the Kimpton Fitzroy, London

Kate and Koorosh tied the knot at the stylish Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel in central London. Based in NYC, they were so lucky to be joined by their family and friends from both the UK and the USA. Their wedding day was marked with so many perfect personal touches, including a gorgeous Persian wedding ceremony, that perfectly brought together their two families.

What an incredible day full of love and happiness. We’re so grateful to have captured it for Kate and Koorosh - we wish you both all the happiness for the future!

Kate was surrounded by her friends and family, who gathered in their amazing suite. Her father took so much care bringing her show-stopping dress over from NYC. Not only was the bow detail gorgeous, it also had pockets!

This black & white image of Kate, her sister, mother and niece is one of our absolute favorites. It has so many layers to it.

It's that feeling of both busyness and the calm before the storm.

It's the reactions of those we love - from a sister, mother and flower girl - to seeing the bride for the first time.

It's the timeless joy and love of a family coming together across three generations on a wedding day.

Kate & Koorosh chose to have a first look in the winter garden. It was such a lovely personal moment, and also allowed the to practice their first dance.

They had two ceremonies on the day - a legal civil ceremony for their closest family members in the Palm Court. This was such a lovely, intimate ceremony.

Another favorite image above - those moments between frames where everyone relaxes and has a laugh.

London streets make the perfect backdrop for a wedding portraits - love the busy chaos all around, yet these newlyweds only have eyes for each other.

We were blessed by a short bit of autumn sun - this kind of light just creates the most stunning portraits.

Waiting to cross the street brought the perfect time to slow down and play with longer exposures. This black cab was just perfect for capturing the feeling of London.

After portraits, Kate & Koorosh had their traditional Persian wedding ceremony with all of their guests. Persian ceremonies feature a ssofreh aghd featuring symbolic items, such as a mirror that signifies eternity, candlesticks that signify light, nuts and eggs for fertility, and coins for wealth and prosperity.

In Persian wedding ceremonies, the guests are invited up to sprinkle sugar over the couple to signify sweetness in married life together.

After their vows, Kate and Koorosh dipped their pinkies into the honey on the sofreh aghd and fed it to each other. Another beautiful tradition, this symbolises that they will feed each other sweetness as they begin their lives as one.

They had a gorgeous cocktail hour in the Palm Court where guests were entertained with a live watercolor artist, a talented string quartet, games and instant cameras for selfies.

We snuck Kate & Koorosh away for a quick evening portrait session. These are some of our favorite moments in the day - they allow our couples a bit of quiet time just for the two of them.

Then we headed back inside for the grand reveal of the reception space. Monica of Dandelion Celebrations completely transformed it into the most incredible dining space, while leaving the sofreh aghd in place for guests to view.

Another favorite moment of the night - the Persian knife dance - such a fun moment with family and friends joining in.

What an incredibly personal and fun day - and one marked by such a feeling of two families of different traditions joined together, creating one perfect new family.
